SVERE/IPBIS 2026: Brain injury rehabilitation after CNS tumors in childhood 

– A joint conference hosted by SVERE, the Swedish pediatric network for rehabilitation after acquired brain injury.  

SVERE is pleased to announce the 15:th Biennial Conference on Pediatric Acquired Brain Injury in Uppsala, Sweden, 24-25 September 2026. This time planned as an international event in collaboration with The International Pediatric Brain Injury Society (IPBIS).

The educational program includes lectures and seminars and focuses on rehabilitation after CNS tumors in childhood, highlighting current clinical and scientific perspectives. The conference is held in English, with speakers from the Nordic and European countries. KEY-note lectures present consequences of CNS tumors, and specific consequences of endocrine dysfunction, on body structure, function, activity and participation. The speakers will represent several of the different professions that form the rehabilitation team.

The conference is intended for professionals and researchers in medicine, psychology, rehabilitation and education who work with children affected by brain tumors and other acquired brain injuries.

About SVERE and IPBIS 

SVERE is a Swedish network consisting of multidisciplinary professionals dedicated to advancing clinical rehabilitation, research and disseminating knowledge on pediatric brain injury. It was formed in 1998, and a biennial conference has been organized since 2000.

IPBIS was founded in 2009 with a mission to disseminate knowledge by developing and sharing best practices; mentoring colleagues; advancing research; supporting policy, and promoting prevention to improve the lives of children, adolescents, and young adults with acquired brain injuries and their families. The first IPBIS conference on acquired brain injury was held in Liverpool 2015, and subsequent conferences have been organized biennially.
